The best TikTok niches right now are dance, food, comedy, drawing, fitness, memes, fashion, travel, sports and beauty. Those are the most popular niches on TikTok, and they are also crowded, so the real opportunity is a smaller sub-niche inside one of them.
Is it too late to start? No. TikTok is still one of the few places where a brand new account can get views with zero followers. But the app changed a lot in the US this year. In January 2026 the American business moved into a new joint venture controlled by US investors (NPR covered the deal), and the plan includes retraining the recommendation algorithm on US user data (TechCrunch has the details). On top of that, the number of TikTok accounts keeps growing every day, which means more competition for every view.
That is why choosing the right TikTok niche and targeting the right market matters more than ever. I used TikTok for my own projects and for client accounts at my agency, so I won’t pretend there is a magic niche. Some TikTok niches grow fast and pay badly, others grow slowly and sell well, and you need to know which kind you are picking.
What I can give you is 100 TikTok niche ideas grouped under the 10 best niches for TikTok, the US search demand I measured for each one in October 2026, and a simple way to pick the best niche on TikTok for you.
Let’s start with the basics.
*Disclosure: I only recommend products I would use myself, and all opinions expressed here are my own. This post may contain affiliate links that at no additional cost to you, I may earn a small commission.
What Is A TikTok Niche?
A TikTok niche is the smaller slice of a bigger market that your account focuses on. If you started an account about memes, cat memes would be a sub-niche inside that category.
Why narrow it down? Because a smaller market has fewer competitors. Your audience will be smaller, yes, but people who follow a niche account watch longer and share more. And an engaged audience is what makes money on TikTok, or on any other social network.
There is a second reason in 2026. The TikTok Creator Rewards Program pays per 1,000 qualified views, and the rate depends on four things: originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement (TikTok explained the formula here). A focused niche helps with all four. It is also the honest answer to the question of the highest paying niches on TikTok, which I cover a bit further down.
How to find a TikTok niche that works
How do you actually find a niche that works? This is the process I would follow today:
- Type a broad topic in the TikTok search bar and read the autocomplete suggestions. Those are searches real users make.
- Open the free TikTok Creative Center and check which hashtags and songs are trending in your country.
- Check demand outside the app. I measured the US Google search volume of every niche in this post with DataForSEO, and any keyword tool will do the same job.
- Read the communities. Subreddits like r/TikTok are full of creators saying which niches still work and which ones are losing interest.
- Post a couple of weeks of test videos before you commit to anything.
Most people skip step four. It is free, and it saves you from jumping into a niche that peaked last year.

Best niches to post on TikTok
In this section I cover the most popular niches on TikTok, and for each one I give you 10 sub-niche ideas so you don’t have to fight the biggest accounts head-on.
Which niches pay the most? TikTok doesn’t publish rates by niche, so be careful with anyone who gives you an exact RPM per category. A useful proxy is what advertisers pay on Google. According to Google Ads data for the US (pulled with DataForSEO in October 2026), a click on “personal finance” costs about $17, while “memes” costs $1.26 and “drawing ideas” $0.92.
So if money per view matters more to you than reach, lean towards niches where people buy something, like skincare, fitness or finance.

Dance is where TikTok started, back when the app was still Musical.ly, and it is still everywhere. In the US, “tiktok dance” gets 18,100 Google searches a month, while “dance tutorial” gets only 1,900. People want to see the trend first and learn it later. That gap is your opening: most dance accounts perform, very few teach.

Dance sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Hip-hop tutorials broken into slow, mirrored steps for people who have never danced.
- Traditional dances from one country or region, with a line on where each one comes from.
- Contemporary pieces that tell a small story in under a minute.
- Ballet basics at home, then pointe tips for the advanced crowd.
- Dance workouts. Cardio that doesn’t feel like cardio.
- Breakdance and street moves, from the first toprock to power moves.
- Your own version of the trending challenge of the week, or a duet with another dancer.
- Salsa, tango or ballroom for couples (wedding first dances are a great angle).
- Freestyle sessions and prompts that help viewers find their own style.
- DIY dancewear and costumes for recitals, competitions or Halloween.

Food works on TikTok because a recipe fits in a minute and anyone can judge the result by eye. Demand outside the app is huge too: “quick dinner ideas” gets 74,000 US searches a month and “easy recipes” 49,500. I know this niche from the affiliate side, since my site chefgadgetgenius.com reviews kitchen gadgets for Amazon, and a gadget inside a short recipe video is the most natural place for an affiliate link.
Food sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Quick recipes for busy people, ideally under 15 minutes.
- Vegan and plant-based meals that meat eaters would also eat.
- Weekly meal prep with portions and a rough nutrition breakdown.
- Street food from one city or country, filmed where it is sold or recreated at home.
- Baking bread, cookies and cakes, plus the decorating part everyone watches twice.
- Food trends and challenges with a twist of your own.
- Traditional dishes from one culture and the story behind them.
- Kitchen hacks, storage tips and gadget tests (this is where affiliate links fit best).
- Restaurant-style plating at home.
- Budget meals with the price of each dish on screen.
@grandadjoe1933 Bit of dark humour ? #darkhumor #darkcomedy #funnytiktok ♬ Me and Your Mama – ✩°。 ⋆⸜ ?
Comedy fits the format perfectly. Short, rewatchable, easy to share. “funny videos” still gets 90,500 Google searches a month in the US.
The problem? Everyone thinks they are funny. Pick an angle (parents, office life, one profession) so people know what they get when they follow you.
Comedy sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Short sketches with recurring characters people come back for.
- Clips from your stand-up sets.
- Impressions and parodies of celebrities or familiar types.
- Parenting humor. Huge, loyal audience.
- Office life and work-from-home jokes.
- Harmless pranks (keep them kind or they get reported).
- Funny reactions to trends, viral videos and the news.
- Pets with voiceovers.
- Everyday situations everyone has lived but nobody says out loud.
- Memes acted out on video with your own twist.

Art is another niche that does well on almost every social network, and the art niche is no exception on TikTok. But art is a huge category, so niche down into one style or trend.
Drawing videos work because watching a blank page turn into a portrait is strangely satisfying, and people stay until the end to see the result. That is play duration, one of the four things TikTok pays for. Search demand is massive as well: “drawing ideas” gets 368,000 US searches a month, the biggest number in this list after memes.
Drawing sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Time-lapses from blank page to finished piece.
- Digital illustration on a tablet, showing the brushes and apps you use.
- Character design and concept art, from the first sketch to the final version.
- Hyper-realistic portraits, like the video above.
- Comics and manga panels, one story per series.
- Doodles and zentangles, the calm content people watch to relax.
- Urban sketching outdoors, one location per video.
- Calligraphy and hand lettering, brush lettering included.
- Fantasy and sci-fi art: creatures, worlds, spaceships.
- Drawing challenges and prompts your followers suggest in the comments.

The fitness niche works on TikTok because you can show a workout in 30 seconds and people save it for later. The video above is calisthenics, and that single word gets 246,000 US Google searches a month. Compare it with “home workout” at 9,900. Specific beats generic, again.
Fitness sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Home workouts with no equipment, or just a pair of dumbbells.
- Yoga flows and stretching routines for flexibility.
- HIIT and cardio sessions you can finish in 20 minutes.
- Strength training and bodybuilding, with form checks.
- 30-day challenges where followers track their progress with you.
- Nutrition and meal ideas that fit a training plan.
- Dance fitness for people who hate the gym.
- Post-pregnancy workouts, gentle and checked with a professional.
- Low-impact routines for seniors. Very few creators cover this one.
- Mobility and functional training to move better and avoid injuries.
@memes ?

The memes niche is popular on TikTok because it is the culture of the platform itself: quick, relatable and made to be shared. It is also one of the easiest faceless options.
Demand is enormous (“memes” gets 1.5 million US searches a month), but the CPC is only $1.26. Expect lots of views and low pay per view. Great for growth, weak for monetization unless you sell something.
Memes sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Your take on the meme trends of the week.
- Old internet memes brought back for a new audience.
- Reactions and commentary on popular memes.
- Political and satirical memes (expect heated comments).
- Memes about one movie, series or fandom.
- Memes in your own language or for one region. Much less competition than English.
- Educational memes that explain a fact with a joke.
- Pet memes, the safest bet on the internet.
- Memes for one hobby: gaming, music, the gym, even SEO.
- Wholesome memes that leave people in a good mood.
@delphinecerise some fall fits for u? #fallfits #fallfashion #fallaesthetic #backtoschool #backtoschoolfit #autumnfashion #simpleoutfitideas #basicoutfit ♬ Family affair sped up – sped up songs ?
The fashion niche works because outfits are visual and change every season, so you never run out of things to post. Seasons matter a lot here: “fall outfits” gets 33,100 US searches a month, and the video above is exactly that kind of content. “outfit ideas” sits at 110,000. Plan your videos one season ahead.
Fashion sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Streetwear and urban style, with new drops and outfit ideas.
- Sustainable fashion: second-hand, ethical brands and capsule wardrobes.
- Luxury and runway content, with designer pieces explained.
- Budget fashion and thrift store hauls.
- DIY and upcycling, turning old clothes into something new.
- Vintage and retro pieces mixed into modern outfits.
- Plus-size styling on real body types.
- Men’s style and grooming, still underserved compared with women’s fashion.
- Outfits for one occasion at a time: weddings, job interviews, first dates.
- Behind the scenes of a fashion creator, from shoots to brand collabs.
@madladsaf Málaga, Spain ???☀️? Credit to @Uzma? for filming these clips. Check out her page for even better videos??? #travel #traveltiktok #spain #southspain #nerja #malaga #fyp ♬ Me gustas tú – Tbp???
The travel niche sells escape. A 20-second clip of a beach in Málaga can make someone want to book a flight faster than any long article.
I run a travel site, nomadsrtw.com, and the Google numbers here are smaller than you would think: “travel tips” gets 2,900 US searches a month and “budget travel” just 1,000. My guess is that a lot of travel discovery now happens inside TikTok and Instagram, which is good news if that is where you create.
Travel sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Budget travel with the real cost of each trip on screen.
- Luxury hotels and high-end experiences.
- Solo travel, safety tips included.
- Historical and cultural sites explained in a minute.
- Adventure trips like hiking, camping or diving.
- Food travel, from street food tours to local markets.
- Sustainable travel and responsible tourism.
- Hidden gems most tourists miss.
- Travel photo and video tips, phone settings included.
- Van life and road trips, with routes and costs.
@sport Respect the effort here #sports #football #mbappe ♬ original sound – Sports by Playmaker
The sports niche has a huge fan base that follows athletes, teams and training clips every day. One warning, though. Reposting match highlights you don’t own is risky, and the Creator Rewards Program only pays for original content. “sports highlights” gets just 1,900 US searches a month anyway, so your own training, your analysis or your local league are safer bets.
Sports sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Extreme sports such as skydiving, mountain biking or surfing.
- Home training for players of one sport.
- How the pros train, explained by someone who actually plays.
- Skills and drills for soccer, basketball or tennis.
- The mental side of sport: nerves, motivation and pre-game routines.
- Youth and amateur leagues, your own team included.
- Outdoor sports like climbing or kayaking.
- Sports nutrition and meal plans for athletes.
- Behind the scenes at the games and events you attend.
- Bloopers and funny moments, filmed by you.

The beauty niche is visual by nature: before, after, done in a minute. It also has some of the best buyer intent in this list. “skincare routine” gets 135,000 US searches a month with a $3.09 CPC, and “makeup tutorial” 90,500. If you want a niche that is popular and also sells products, this is the one I would look at first.
Beauty sub-niche ideas for TikTok
- Makeup tutorials, from a five-minute everyday look to full creative makeup.
- Skincare routines for one skin type or problem.
- Hairstyling tutorials and reviews of hair tools.
- Nail art and DIY manicures.
- Hauls and honest product reviews.
- Clean and sustainable beauty.
- Men’s grooming: beards, skincare and haircuts.
- Beauty rituals from different cultures.
- Cosmetic treatments explained without the sales pitch.
- Budget dupes and DIY beauty.
Best TikTok Niches- Conclusion
So which is the best niche on TikTok? The one where you can post often, where people search for answers, and where you are not fighting millions of accounts for the same viewer. In practice, that means picking one of the best niches for TikTok above and going one level down.
Who should skip this list? Anyone who can’t post at least a few times a week. No niche will save an account that goes quiet, so if you can’t keep up with content, you will struggle to grow your TikTok account. A scheduler like Publer helps a lot, or you can outsource your content creation on Fiverr.
If you have read other TikTok niches lists (plenty still say 2024 in the title), you will notice the big ten categories barely change from one year to the next. What changes is which sub-niches are still open. Check the data again before you commit, it takes ten minutes.
My recommendation: choose one sub-niche from the 100 above, post for a month, and only then judge the numbers.
Now it’s your turn.
